Mixed trend prevailed in acrylic value chain last week: TexPro
A mixed trend was noted in price movement of acrylic value chain in Southeast Asia last week. While propylene and acrylic staple fibre recorded upward trend during the last one week, a declining trend was observed in acrylonitrile. Propylene was priced at $1,050 per MT (CFR SE Asia), while acrylonitrile was at $1,750 per MT (CFR FE Asia) on Wednesday.
The price of acrylic staple fibre was RMB 18,500 per MT (China) on Wednesday, according to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro. Propylene was priced at $1,015 per MT (CFR) in Southeast Asia on last Thursday. But it increased to $1,050 per MT on Friday. There was no movement in the prices during last three trading sessions. Propylene was priced as $1,020 (FOB Korea), $1,025 (FOB Japan), $1,020 (CFR China), $1,050 (CFR SE Asia), €1,375 (FD Europe) per MT, and $0.20/lb (FD US Gulf) on Wednesday. The prices declined by $10 per MT in Korean FOB and Chinese CFR prices on last day.
Acrylonitrile was priced at $1,800 per MT (CFR) in Far East Asia on last Thursday. But it slipped to $1,750 per MT on Friday. The prices remained steady on this Monday and Tuesday. Acrylonitrile was noted at $1,750 (CFR) in Far East Asia and Southeast Asia, $1,800 (CIF) in Europe, and $1,955 (FOB) per MT in US Gulf. The prices declined by 2.98 per cent in US Gulf (FOB) on Thursday.
Acrylic staple fibre was priced at RMB 18,350 per MT in China on last Wednesday. The price increased to RMB 18,450 per MT on Thursday, and RMB 18,500 per MT on this Monday. Acrylic staple fibre steadied on Tuesday and Wednesday. Acrylic top was noted at RMB 20,000 per MT in China.
