Cationic polyester is a non standard polyester. This means that supply is limited as it’s not as common as a regular polyester. For your supply chain this means you a buying a non-common fiber. A bigger issue is the quality of cationic polyester. We have seen several tests on different cationic polyester and the differences in colors are huge. It is, in fact, a double knit fabric, like a Ponte Roma – however, it would be unfair to compare the two as they are often made from different compositions. Differs from before, now Scuba fabrics have much more different compositions. Polyester, polyester/viscose are the regular ones, besides these, they can also be polyester/nylon, polyester/modal, modal/nlyon and so on. Whilst Ponte Roma fabrics are usually from viscose and lycra. Scuba is generally used to make dance-wear, leggings and dresses (think of evening or party dresses) and is quite easy to care for.

What is sand-washed fabric? Sand-washed fabric refers to the surface finish treatment which gives fabric a soft, chamois-like feel and luster. Other names include sueded or doeskin fabric. What is good about recycled polyester? Environmental Benefits Recycled polyester: Diverts used plastic from landfills. Prevents used plastic from ending up in our oceans and harming marine life. Advantages to recycled polyester: • Using more recycled polyester reduces our dependence on petroleum as the raw material for our fabric needs. • Diverting PET bottles for this process reduces landfill, and thus reduces soil contamination and air and water pollution and requires less energy than virgin polyester. • Garments created from recycled polyester aim to be continuously recycled with no degradation of quality, allowing us to minimize wastage. This means polyester garment manufacture could potentially become a closed-loop system.

The rayon nylon blend provides a soft hand and the spandex gives you stretch for added comfort. Ponte rome also has the added benefit of little to no fray on the cut edges making it perfect for garments with raw edges! Ponte de Roma fabric is a medium weight double knit which has a nice structure while maintaining a soft drape. The cotton-polyester blend provides a soft hand and the spandex gives you stretch for added comfort. Ponte also has the added benefit of little to no fray on the cut edges making it perfect for garments with raw edges! Ponte Roma is a high quality stretch knit jersey fabric that is extremely soft and has a slight sheen when draped. Additionally, this fabric has a subtle two-directional stretch and retains its shape even after it is pulled.

Ponte Roma (also called Ponte de Roma) is the name of a fabric. A thick, double-knit fabric with two-way stretch. Two-way stretch is important because it moulds to your body shape and holds you in at the same time. Ponte holds its shape because the fabric is tightly woven. It travels well, doesn't fade and is super comfortable. It rarely wrinkles and wears extremely well. For some, it may feel too heavy especially in certain climates.

Ponte roma is great for any style of pants (jeans, skinny pants, leggings, yoga pants, etc.), as well as for dresses, tunics, jackets, skirts or tops.
